See(a) Horses

With half an eye and one ear focused on the news yesterday morning I heard a news story that has had my imagination playing. It must have been the “dead donkey” story, as it didn’t seem to appear later in the day – although there wasn’t much television viewing yesterday.

First thing the story told those listening that there was a search taking place for sea horses off the coast of Scotland. The pictures showed tiny little creatures like the short spouted and the stickle back.

My imagination has majestic, magical creatures crashing through the waves. They may be short spouted or stickle backed, but they glitter and gleam in their race to the beach. And I want to go and search for these creatures.

Unfortunately “normal” life has settled onto my imagination, and so as I sit in the car waiting for child 2 to go to school the day ahead is taking shape.

Maybe when life is settled I’ll be able to write my short story about sea horses, and enjoy a bit of searching on a beach. In the meantime I’m still leaping through the waves on my shining charger.
